Consecutive Education (Intermediate/Senior)
This 16-month program prepares you to teach grades 7 to 12 with expertise in 2 of the following teachable subject areas:
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • English
  • General Science
  • Health and Physical Education
  • History
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
Admission is based on an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with a minimum required average of 70% ("B-" or 2.7 GPA) in the best 10 full-year or best 20 half-year courses completed. Preference is given to 4-year honours degrees.

Applicants must have completed a minimum of 5 full-year courses or 10 half-year courses with a 70% average in a first teaching subject, and 3 full-year courses or 6 half-year courses with a 70% average in a second teaching subject.

Consecutive Education (Primary/Junior)
This 16-month program prepares you to be an elementary school teacher (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6) with strengths in science, mathematics, literacy and technology.

Admission is based on an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with a minimum required average of 70% ("B-" or 2.7 GPA) in the best 10 full-year or best 20 half-year courses completed. Preference is given to 4-year honours degrees.

Because Primary/Junior teachers deal with a wide range of subject areas, it is desirable that you have a broad academic background. In assessing the academic breadth of Primary/Junior applicants, the Faculty of Education gives preference to candidates who have 1 or more 3-credit hour (half-year) undergraduate or graduate courses in these subject groupings:
