Admission to this program is a 2-part process: 

1. You are first considered for undergraduate admission to Glendon Campus. 
2. Applicants who have submitted all required documents by the specified deadline dates and received an offer of admission to Glendon by mid-April will advance to the Education Admissions Committee review. The Faculty of Education issues final admission decisions in May. 

Submit your application for admission to the OUAC by the deadline. You must also submit your Supplementary Information Form and supplemental fee by the April deadline for early consideration or by the May deadline for standard consideration. 

If you wish to pursue an international Bachelor of Arts (iBA) or an international Bachelor of Science degree in the concurrent education program, you will still apply using OUAC code YYI. Once you have been admitted to the BA or BSc program, you can request to be transferred to the iBA or iBSc program by contacting Glendon directly at 416-487-6710 or liaison@glendon.yorku.ca.

Additional Admission Criteria

In addition to meeting Glendon's general BA admission requirements, you must submit an online Faculty of Education supplementary information form and pay a $50 processing fee.

Applicants who have submitted all required documents by the specified deadline dates and received an offer of admission to a Glendon BA or iBA program by mid-April will advance to the Education Admissions Committee review.

Language Requirements

Glendon is the bilingual campus of York University, offering courses in English and French. Proficiency in both languages is not required for admission to most programs, but all programs of study include a language requirement as part of the course of study.

We are pleased to announce our new flexible language requirements. You can complete a Glendon degree by taking only 2 courses (6 credits total) in your non-dominant language at any level. You can choose this option during your enrollment appointment or at the end of your first year. More advanced language requirements are available if you are interested in developing higher language skills.

Language Requirements

York University has general language requirements for all applicants. Glendon applicants can provide proof of language proficiency in English or French. For students who provide language proficiency in English, there is no minimum French requirement.

If you are applying to an undergraduate program, you may meet Glendon's language requirements if you have successfully completed, or are in the process of successfully completing, one of the following:

• 4 full years of study in Canada in English or French at the high-school level
• 4 full years of study at the high-school level in English or French in a country where English or French is a primary language or primary language of instruction
• 1 full year of study in an accredited university degree program in English or French in a country where English or French is a primary language or primary language of instruction
• 2 full years of study in English or French in an accredited college diploma/applied degree program in a country where English or French is a primary language or primary language of instruction

If you completed, or are in the process of completing, the International Baccalaureate diploma, you may meet Glendon's English-language requirements. You must show achievement of the IB diploma once it has been granted.

Note: Glendon does not count time spent in ESL, letters written by applicants, or completion of senior-level high school English course(s), as proof of English-language proficiency.

These requirements are general guidelines only. Glendon reserves the right to require a successfully completed language proficiency test. If you are unsure whether you meet the language requirements, you should submit an acceptable English- or French-language test score as soon as possible to avoid potential delays in the processing of your application.

Glendon applicants can provide proof of language proficiency in English or French. You can provide one of the English or French tests listed below or write the French Language Admissions Test administered by Student Recruitment and Applicant Relations. Offers of Admission

Basic Requirements for Admission

The 17³Ô¹Ï Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and six 4U/M courses, including 4U English, are required. Applicants studying in a French-language high school can present 4U French instead of 4U English.

Failed and Repeated Courses

Failed courses will be considered. Admissions will review the course with the highest grade.

Repeated courses are accepted. Admissions will consider the course with the highest grade, which may not necessarily be the most recently taken course.

Timing and Process for Admission Decisions

York will begin assessing applicants and may make conditional offers of admission as applications are received. At all points in the process, you are encouraged to present as strong an academic profile as possible.

York will consider 3U/M courses for initial admission purposes. You may be considered for alternative programs if you do not meet the admission requirements of your original choice or if your original program choice is full.

Alternative Offers

If you are not offered admission to the program you applied to but are admissible to another program of study, we may provide an alternative offer of admission.

The admission process is competitive. If you are not successful in your Concurrent BEd application, there is another path where you can accept your undergraduate offer to Glendon and re-apply to the Consecutive BEd as an upper-year student.
